Research Interests: Student and expert explanations of graph construction and reasoning in biology

Email: aangra13@gmail.com

Research Advisor: Stephanie Gardner

About me: As an undergraduate at Georgia Tech, I was actively involved in NASA funded astrobiology projects aimed at high school students. I worked closely with high school teachers and professors to develop hands-on, low-cost lesson plans for teachers. My interests lie in bridging the gap between knowledge at the high school and first-year undergraduate level. I would like to achieve this by working closely with the trainers, high school teachers and first-year science professors. Explore my work in astrobiology

About my research: Currently, I am interested in seeing how novice biology undergraduate students, graduate students and expert faculty differ in reasoning used for graph evaluation, choice, construction, and understanding. I am using semi-structured interviews and using a mixed methods to collect qualitative and quantitative data. Download the Graphing Project Summary (PDF).
